Park Gate Primary Schools Footballing Success!

On Tuesday 28th January 2025, the Year 6 Cup Team played Harrison Primary in the third round of the Fareham Cup. From the starting whistle, the team played incredible football. Passes were skilfully planned with an incredible success rate. Jenson and Charlie played superbly at the back. On a tricky surface, they had control of the ball with force, to ensure it did not bounce over their heads. Jenson's long and threatening throw-ins ensured Max, Zane and Blake in midfield got plenty of the ball. When they had the ball, they confidently held possession and played hundreds of fantastic balls up to our super striker Oliver. Not only that, they had over ten shots on target in the first half alone. Unfortunately, these were kept out of the goal by Harrison's impressive goalkeeper. The first half ended at 1-0 to Park Gate, thanks to Blake's stunning strike, even though we deserved to be winning by many more.

In the second half, Park Gate continued to play with breathtaking skill. This half it paid off with three goals: 2 from Oliver and 1 from Max. We won the game comfortably (4-0) and what a game of football it was to watch!

It wasn't just a show of football skill, however. We received so many compliments from Harrison's staff and parents saying how impressed they were, not only with Park Gate's incredible footballing skill but their inspirational sportsmanship. This game was a showcase of the team's maturity and unwavering teamwork.

I would also like to shout out to Finn and Jack who supported their team throughout as substitutes, demonstrating great resilience and kindness. Well done boys!

Every member of this team demonstrated the Park Gate Way at every opportunity and we should all be incredibly proud of them!

    Here's to the next round!
