Year 3 Trip to Selborne was a sunny event!
Year Three had a fantastic trip to the village of Selborne in the South Downs National Park. We carried out lots of field work skills including using OS maps and a traffic survey. The village is quite different to Park Gate and it was great to be able to experience these first hand.
We also had a look around Gilbert White's house and gardens and found out about who he was and what he did. Gilbert White was a naturalist, whose books are an inspiration to David Attenborough. He believed in studying birds and animals in their natural habitat to gain a better understanding of them.
The weather was very kind to us and the sun shone all day.
Our guide for the day commented on the enthusiasm and engagement of our fantastic year three children.
A great day was had by all.
